Codeanywhere Announces Drop Box Integration

Codeanywhere has formally announced dropbox integration, woot! Both have have an iPhone, iPad & Android app. So you really *can* code anywhere.

I love both apps and am super excited about this. I have been a long time dropbox user. I started out with the 2 gig free plan and have gotten several friends to sign up. You get 500mb for each friend who joins, and your friends get 250mb if they sign up. You can keep private data, but also host your own scripts like cufon, jquery, images, etc. with a public shared folder. Check it out here.

Just a FYI: The codeanywhere browser extension is only available in the google chrome browser.

Recently a friend had a problem setting up a post that had a list of her favorite link parties. One of the codes she had was broken and blogger wouldn't let her save the post. If you aren't familiar with coding, it may be difficult to figure out where the error is. Codeanywhere now offers syntax highlighting, so you can see the part of the error highlighted in red.

One thing that took me a little time to figure out, was how to create a file. If you have codeanywhere tied to your dropbox account, all you have to do is right click on one of the pre-installed directories (folders), create a file and give it an extension, like .html.

So if you are looking for a quick and easy way to edit code, try codeanywhere with DropBox
