In addition to letting blog owners and other commentators find you, giving yourself a back-link also helps increase your blog's SEO statistics. The more sites linking to you = higher rankings, so it's a win-win situation.
Sidenote: A while back I posted this tutorial for changing your google friend connect settings to show more profile links. Well, there seems to be trouble in my personal blogger paradise. Two things are happening with this specific blogger account. My google friend connect is no longer working properly when I use my google profile, so I had to revert back to my blogger profile, which only allows one link from what I can tell.
My other problem is that I cannot log into my blogger dashboard! If any of you have had this or other strange problems with blogger, you can read up on the current info at status.blogger.com. Ok, so that's not what this post is about. I just had to vent a little bit! Thanks for listening :)
How to create a blog or website hyperlink in your comments:
Because I work with code so much, writing out links from memory is pretty much a no brainer. There was a time when this didn't come from memory. I liken it to an ice cream sandwich, in hopes to create a meaningful reminder for you. If it doesn't stick in your brain right off the bat, just save this image somewhere that is handy or add it to a sticky note on your desktop.
Look at the < > symbols like a cookie, and the text for the link as the ice cream. The < > symbols are the start of an html tag, and the < / >. Another way to look at it is as if your hands < > were holding the ice cream sandwich getting ready to take a big bite!
Hopefully my creative visualization helps to set in place a visual reminder for you, which will ultimately increase new friendships, blog visitors and SEO stats for backlinks!

Sheila Said,
It's a very simple thing to do - and very handy if like me, you have more than one blog. This way, when I leave a thankful comment, the blog owner can view my creations and perhaps find a few that they enjoy! :)

I will have to try and remember this. Funny years ago I used to be able to do so much of this without even thinking about it and now it's like starting over =/ I used to leave calling cards in guest books and all that fun stuff...Aw well maybe it will stick again haha
Found you through the Monday Blog Hop PascalsA I'm just a day late but I made it haha

Lauren Said,
I for one feel that no tutorial is too simple! This is a great tip, something I don't often remember to so myself, and that many might not have discovered.
Keep the blogging tips coming. <3 Hugs.
Thanks for all of your support. :)
